Mirror Bracket for Late Kübelwagen Type 82 (Approximately April 1943 – 1945)
This Mirror Bracket (P0503-1) is designed for late Kubelwagen Type 82 models, produced from approximately April 1943 until the end of production in 1945. It was mounted on the left side of the vehicle, complementing the pivot axle (P0503-2) used on the right side. This bracket replaced earlier semaphore brackets (P0003) and their shortened versions, simplifying the windshield frame design.
Historical Context:
- 1940 – Early Models: Early Kübelwagen models featured the spotlight bracket (P0475) on the right side for mounting searchlights, while the left side used the standard (P0503) bracket for the rearview mirror.
- 1942 – Semaphore Brackets (P0003): Introduced to support turn signals mounted on the A-pillars. In this version, the rearview mirror was mounted on the left semaphore bracket.
- Shortened Semaphore Brackets: These appeared in early 1943 as a simplified version without arm turn signals. While we currently do not produce this version, you can modify earlier versions yourself if needed.
- 1943 – Mirror Bracket (P0503-1): Starting in approximately April 1943, semaphore brackets were replaced on the left side with this mirror bracket, simplifying the design.
