Tool Box Firewall Bracket – Gerätekasten (Werkzeugkastenhalter, Stirnwand)
This is a reproduction of the short sheet metal bracket used in Kübelwagen Type 82 as part of the mounting system for the metal toolbox.
It was spot-welded to the firewall between the engine and the rear luggage compartment, supporting the toolbox from behind and keeping it upright in position.
Introduced together with the metal toolbox from body number 8501 and used until the second half of 1943, when the simplified wooden toolbox replaced the earlier version.
This bracket was always combined with the longer tool box bracket on the right-hand engine shelf, forming a complete support system for the toolbox.
