Complete Waterproof Headlight Set (Scheinwerfer vollst.) – VW Type 166 / VW 128
This is a high-quality reproduction set of two complete front headlights used on the Volkswagen Type 166 Schwimmwagen as well as the earlier prototype Volkswagen Type 128.
These are the special waterproof headlights fitted to all Schwimmwagen vehicles equipped with the headlight wiring tubes running underneath the front fenders. The front fenders on these vehicles are equipped with an M18x1.5 threaded mounting hole, allowing direct installation of these waterproof headlamps.
These headlights were used on all Volkswagen Type 166 Schwimmwagen vehicles until approximately February 1944. At that time, the wiring tubes underneath the front fenders were eliminated and the large 160 mm headlights were replaced by the smaller Einheitslampen units with a 130 mm lens diameter.
The set is supplied complete, including bulbs, and requires only painting before installation.
Every detail has been faithfully reproduced from the original components, including the correct 160 mm diameter headlight lenses. All metal components and headlight housings are manufactured exactly like the originals, with pressed sheet-metal construction rather than spun parts.
This complete set is ideal for the accurate restoration of VW Type 166 Schwimmwagen and VW 128 prototype vehicles.
