Aluminium swing axle gearbox housing.
We are proud to present a perfect reproduction of the split gearbox case. Our transmission housing is made from aluminum alloy, which is a modern and reliable alternative to the original magnesium alloy. All gerbox case castings are machined in germany on multi-axis CNC machining centers, ensuring precise and consistent dimensions.
Our non-synchronous split case is compatible with a wide range of air cooled VW’s produced before March 1953, including the Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle, Type 2 Bus, Type 60 KdF beetle, Type 82 Kubelwagen, Type 82E, and Schwimmwagen type 166. Additionally, this transmission case can also be used in early Porsche 356 Pre-A models.
Please note that this product does not include breather vent, studs, bolts, nuts, or bushings. These components can be purchased separately, or you can reuse the original parts from your existing transmission. If your car has a vent in the gearshift housing (excl. schwimmwagen), you can plug the breather vent in the gearbox case.
