This cage nut set (Mutternbefestigung) is a high-quality reproduction manufactured according to the original Volkswagen wartime pattern. The product consists of one steel cage supplied complete with the correct nut, sold as a single set.
These cage nuts are welded into the rear triangular reinforcement sections of the chassis in both the Volkswagen Type 82 Kübelwagen and KdF Beetle. They are used to secure the body crossmembers to the chassis. Four sets are required per vehicle.
